This weekend saw our first home league fixture of the season. It was a hard fought win, our opponents Girling RFC kept coming at us for 80 minutes. The last time we met, Magor were victorious by 88 points to 5 but this was a very different Girling side and the final score was Magor 22 – 7 Girling. Our Man of the Match, sponsored by Mark’s Mobile Butchers, went to Jaden Quinn for his relentless tackles and dominance in the scrum – another 80 minute performance.

Our first league game of the season sadly ended in defeat. We travelled the short distance down the road to St. Julian’s HSOB RFC at the Glebelands in Newport but this time we fell short losing a tight battle 28 – 10. We’ll learn from this, regroup and come back fighting next week for our first home game of the season against Girling RFC. Why not come and support the boys at Caldicot Leisure Centre next week.
